May Athlete of the Month – Chris Harper


1. Nickname: Fridge
2. Occupation: Fisheries Biologist aka “Fish Squeezer”
3. Hometown: Coolidge, GA
4. Which class do you usually attend? 4:30
5. How long have you been cross fitting? Since workout #1 of CFHT 6 months ago
6. What is your favorite and least favorite lifts? My favorite is power cleans. My least favorite is thrusters.
7. What is your athletic background? I played 2 years of pee-wee football.
8. How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness? CrossFit has had a huge impact on not only my physical fitness but my mental fitness as well. It has really opened my eyes to the things I’m capable of accomplishing that I didn’t think were possible.
9. What are your goals for CF? To learn to maintain a healthy lifestyle so that I can be a positive role model for my kids.
10. What do you do in your free time? I traded it all in for 3 kids.
11. What is your favorite cheat food? Cake and Ice Cream
12. Tell us something most people wouldn’t know about you. I take my wife on downtown shopping trips just so I can go to GAP on Broughton Street. Dave the dressing room attendant is so passionate about his job I can’t help but watch and smile.
13. Any advice for new members? The first month is the toughest. Hang in there even when you want to quit. It’s worth it. Then set goals and chip away. With the support of the trainers and CFHT community you will succeed. And remember, a slow burpee is still a burpee.
